Melayu UK refers to the Malay community in the UK, comprising UK citizens and residents who regard the UK as their home. The community includes those who have married Malays. There is a very high percentage of mix-marriages in the Melayu UK community. Formed in 2001, the Melayu UK community is continuously growing. We are proud that our community now comprise of not just the first generation Malays who were born in the Malay World, but also second, third and even fourth generation Malays who were born in the UK.
Activities and Services

Perhimpunan Keluarga (Family Gathering) is an outdoor camping activity to increase bonding amongst members. The 2-3 day events are filled with activities for children and adults.

Online Islamic Classes
We acknowledge that parents may find it difficult to teach their children about Islam and learning to read the Quran. Our online application and classes aim to solve these issues.
Seasonal
Regional Gatherings
Our members are spread across the UK, We organise regional gatherings to make it easier to get together for our activities such as Hari Raya (Eid) parties and Majlis Ilmu (physical Islamic classes).
Our Children Are Our Future Leaders
Leadership training from a young age helps cultivate essential skills such as communication, responsibility, problem-solving, and empathy early in a person’s development.
Living With Triple Heritage: Islam, Malay and British
Perhimpunan Keluarga
If we want an organisation to last forever, we must invest in the young generation. Melayu UK puts a lot of focus on developing the young generation to be the leaders of tomorrow. We put a lot of focus on developing social and intellectual activities in order to nurture them.
Any community that only satisfies the needs of adults and ignores the children is bound to fail. Any community that does not plan for the future will eventually become irrelevant.
Hari Raya Parties
Eid is celebrated by every Muslim. However, every culture will add features that make the celebration uniquely identifiable to their culture. Melayu UK combines Islamic, Malay and British culture in our Hari Raya parties. By taking the best of the 3 heritages, the celebration gives more meaning to our members.
Melayu UK Hari Raya parties are normally held only once a year. It is an event that our members look forward to attending, socialising and touching base. If they miss, then there is another year to wait.
Our members
Melayu UK members are spread all over the UK. It is a big challenge, if not impossible, for everyone to meet at a single location. Nevertheless, on the positive side, you are never too far away from our members.
Where a physical meeting is not practical, our online networking and delivery of services through the internet try to fill in the gap.
