The Malays (Melayu) are the original inhabitants of the Malay archipelago. This is a region in South East Asia that currently comprises of Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and Singapore.
The diaspora of the Malays have seen the build up Malay communities across the planet such as Melayu South Africa, Melayu Sri Lanka. The diaspora of Malays in the United Kingdom is known as Melayu UK
